Go behind the scenes with Chris Felcyn as Conductor Kypros Markou describes the upcoming all-Polish concert of the Dearborn Symphony Orchestra to be held Friday night,  11/13/09, at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center in Dearborn. Included are excerpts of the Overture to “Halka” by Moniuszko and “Stanislav and Anna Oswiecim” by Karlowicz, recorded in rehearsal earlier this week.
 

 

The Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival - June 18, 2009 (3:31)

Hear an exclusive preview of pianist Jeremy Denk with members of the Harlem Quartet, Matt Albert from eighth blackbird and Craig Rifel from the DSO rehearsing the finale to Bach’s Piano Concerto No. 1. The piece will be performed Saturday, June 20, at 8 p.m. at the Seligman Performing Arts Center as part of the Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival.

Violinist Ani Kavafian and pianist Pei-Shan Lee rehearse Felix Mendelssohn’s Sonata for Violin and Piano in F major. Recorded in the Refectory of Kirk in the Hills in Bloomfield Hills, where Ani and Pei-Shan were preparing for their concerts as part of the 2009 Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival.
