DeMarco Castrosays
My name is DeMarco Castro and I have an instrumental piano album called The Angel Stole The Rain available on iTunes, Amazon Music, etc… was interested and wondering if you would consider playing my music on air. Thank you for your consideration and time Sincerely DeMarco
Hello. My name is Tony Ruda and I have been active on the jazz scene and classical scene in Detroit for many years. Currently I serve as President of Pro Musica Detroit, a chamber music society that has an active partnership with WRCJ – a truly magnificent radio station.
I would like to have your station consider featuring a jazz quintet made up of premier jazz musicians with a local connection. I assembled this ensemble and recorded them in my home using all professional quality recording gear and techniques. In fact, there is a CD of it in your catalog at the station or in the possession of my good friend over there, Maxine Michaels. I would be delighted if you would use it as material for your show, Michigan-Made Music. The personnel on the CD include Scott Gwinnell, Andrew Bishop, Anthonuy Stanco, Danny Kolton, and Jordan Otto. The title of the CD is Keep It To Yourself. I would be delighted to come on the show and talk and bring with me one of the artists. Warm Wishes to WrCJ for continued success as Detroit’s premier classical and jazz radio station.
Stanley Hollingsworth (prof at Oakland U) wrote a fabulous piano concerto performed by Flavio Varani and the DSO back in the day. Don’t know if there’s a recording, but it was amazing.
As a Michigan Music choir, the Plymouth Oratorio Society is in its 34th season.
We are waiting on the future if the virus concerns, and are hoping to restart
our rehearsals on 9/14 and hold our concert on 10/25, instead of tomorrow (5/3).
I would like the POS to be featured on WRCJ. Chris F. played a selection of ours
in March of 2012. One piece I have in mind is Vivaldi’s “Dixit Dominus” that was
originally attributed to another composer. Our performance in 2015 was the
Michigan Premier! Many other pieces performed by the POS are possible. I
can send you other options on your request.

Hi Andrew, that’s a good idea, we are checking the library!
Please let me know when Louis Nagel will be on. He is a good friend and I want to be able to tell him that I listened in.
Thanks,
Dan Medow
Dan, you’re just in time. Professor Nagel is scheduled for tomorrow, 5/14, at 1pm. Enjoy!
