The Royal Oak Concert Band (ROCB) presents “A Season of Joy!” the second concert of its 2025-2026 season, at 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 14th at the Royal Oak Middle School Auditorium, 709 N. Washington Ave., Royal Oak, MI 48067.
Directed by Mr. Kevin R. Czarnik, the ROCB is celebrating the holiday season with a delightful afternoon of traditional songs and themes. The concert will feature the illustrious Detroit Women’s Chorus, a 60 member vocal ensemble, performing independently and with the ROCB. In addition, the ROCB will be performing classics such as Sleigh Ride, Carol of the Bells, The Christmas Song and Festive Sounds of Hanukkah. We will also have a special guest conductor from the North Pole, leading the ROCB in a performance of Little Saint Nick. This engaging concert will highlight the very best of the Royal Oak Concert Band and Woodward Avenue Jazz Orchestra and entertain audiences with toe-tapping melodies to usher in the holiday season. The 18 piece Woodward Avenue Jazz Orchestra, directed by Mr. Jim Cann, will be opening the concert with a jazzy set with their salute to holiday season. WAJO will be featuring vocalists from the Detroit Women’s Chorus who will be singing classic Christmas songs with a jazzy feel.
