Ann Arbor Concert Band presents The Spectrum of Sound

The Ann Arbor Concert Band began its “Shattering Glass Series” in March 2024 with a concert dedicated to “Women in Winds. We followed in March 2025 with “Colors of the Winds”. Each of these previous concerts, respectively, highlighted significant contributions of women and persons of color – composers and conductors – to concert band and wind ensemble repertoire. Artistic Director and Conductor David Leach continues our “Shattering Glass Series” with “The Spectrum of Sound” celebrating significant contributions of LGBTQ+ composers and conductors. We welcome guest conductors DaJuan Brooks (UM-SMTD), Eric Colborne (A2CB), Kristina La Marca (UM-SMTD), Todd Nichols (A2CB) and Samuel Perry-Safford (conductor, artist and & teacher). Selections include Rossano Galante’s “Rise (A Gay Games Anthem)”, Kevin Day’s “Dancing Fire”, Danielle Fisher’s “Pathways”, Julie Giroux’s “A Symphony of Fables” and more! Join us for this ground breaking and inspirational afternoon of music!
