BABC: Derek Menchan, ‘cello and bass

CMDetroit welcomes Derek Menchan as he makes his CMDetroit debut with our BABC program! Featuring works by Price, Respighi, Beethoven, and the World Premiere of Rebellion Fantasy for piano, bass and woodwinds.

Brendon Davis – Rebellion Fantasy (WORLD PREMIERE)
Improvised works with Kasan Belgrave and Brendon Davis

Admission includes handcrafted cocktail/mocktail provided by Black Spirits Legacy along with savory bites provided by Chef Steve Couch of Mr. Eat Right. Afterglow entertainment provided by DJ & Keyboardist Jon Dixon.

This concert is a part of Chamber Music Detroit’s Black Artists Black Composers (BABC) initiative, created to provide a dedicated platform for exceptional Black classical musicians to showcase and celebrate the still-underrepresented contributions of Black performers and composers to the rich fabric of classical music in American life.
