Bleak Week: Sorcerer (1977) at the Redford Theatre

William Friedkin’s masterpiece is an American adaptation of “The Wages of Fear”, where a down-on-his-luck Roy Scheider drives a truck loaded with old, rotting dynamite through a rough jungle, hoping he won’t explode. It’s a nail-biter with a killer Tangerine Dream score. The river crossing scene in a violent storm will leave you exhausted.
