Chamber Music at the Scarab Club presents Folias Duo and Hummel Trio

As always at CMSC the audience will enjoy an intriguing mix of music. Folias Duo has performed on the series many times and is always an audience favorite! Flutist Carmen Maret and guitarist Andrew Bergeron enjoy an exciting career as a traveling duo. Folias Duo is a trailblazing composer-performer ensemble, known for blending classical music with jazz, world music, and improvisation. They have developed a singular artistic voice through two decades of collaboration, live performance, and original composition. For this concert, the duo will perform a new set of music that celebrates the landscapes and stories of the Great Lakes region.
The March 8th program will also feature violists John Madison and Joseph Deller along with cellist Sarah Cleveland performing a string trio by the Austrian composer Johann Nepomuk Hummel. These three fabulous musicians all perform in the Detroit Opera Orchestra and with many other ensembles in the area. You won’t want to miss this very special concert!
Each piece will be introduced by one of the musicians and refreshments will be served following the concert.
