Join the Rochester Symphony Orchestra as it celebrates its 62nd year in concert. Music Director Zeljko Milicevic has prepared A KALEIDOSCOPE OF MUSIC for the 2023-2024 season. This evening, “Les Souvenirs du Passe`” pays tribute to the French, featuring works by Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, and Francois Devienne. And though Mozart is not French, his “Paris Symphony” will be performed. Personal notes involve his being only 22 and suffering the loss of his mother at the time of the symphony’s debut.

This evening’s guest performer is Amanda Blaikie, who is serving this season as the Principal Flutist of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.

(Not to be overlooked is a special treat of cider and donuts at intermission, courtesy of Yates Cider Mill.)
