Longtime recording & concertizing duo – bass trombonist Randall Hawes and collaborative pianist Kathryn Goodson – perform David Biedenbender’s haunting Liquid Architecture, written for them. Other 20th & 21st century works of jazz-infused lyricism and rugged beauty will include songs by Charles Ives & Alec Wilder, Come Sunday by Duke Ellington in a trio version and more. Special guests will be violinist Marian Tanau of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, and mezzo soprano Ella Peters, vocal performance senior at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre and Dance and member of Chicago’s Grant Park Chorus.
