Plan 9 from Outer Space (Sir Graves Ghastly Tribute Event) at the Redford Theater

Detroit TV horror host Sir Graves Ghastly enters a new era in this Saturday evening performance hosted by Count Cat, a young feline-infused horror movie nut and musician in the tradition of the legendary Graves, who broadcast on WJBK-TV 2 from 1967 to 1982. Expect a wild time as the Count and his crew of actors and musicians present a recently unearthed Graves episode from 1975 where Sir Graves does comedy bits in between segments of Plan Nine From Outer Space (1957), shown in its entirety.

Count Cat performs his own skit before the film and a short set with his band Death Cat at intermission! And if that isn’t enough, David Deming, son of Graves actor Lawson Deming, will be here too along with photo ops a plenty. Dressing up in your spookiest apparel is highly recommended.

Ed Wood’s camp masterpiece features Bela Lugosi’s final film appearance in a bonkers mix of sci-fi and horror that also stars Vampira and Tor Johnson.
