Summer Exhibit: The Underground Railroad

Michigan has deep ties the Underground Railroad and the anti-slavery movement. The movement was complex and peopled showed their support in a variety of ways. Take a walk around the Village to learn about how Michigan played a vital role in the anti-slavery movement and how the landscape of Michigan changed after slavery was abolished.

The exhibit includes research completed by Village staff and includes posters in all of our buildings. You can experience this exhibit by purchasing General Admission to the Village.
