Detroit Opera broadcast

On Sunday, December 7 we will have a live broadcast of the Detroit Opera. Hear the opening day performance of “Highways and Valleys – Two American Love Stories”. The production features works by the “dean of African American music,” William Grant Still and the Jewish émigré Kurt Weill. Both composers sought out the heart of American folk music and brought it into the world of opera. We’ll start Sunday at 2 p.m. with a preview feature and the opera goes live at 2:30 p.m. Hosted by Peter Whorf.
