I support WRCJ and now I listen to the station at work all day long. It provides me with a relaxing and yet invigorating environment. Who wouldn’t want to support this wonderful station that keeps classical and jazz; both worldwide and national, alive! Thank you WRCJ!
Thank you Cynthia, that’s so nice! We are grateful for your support.
Leontyne Price’s “Summertime” was stunningly warm on a cold February afternoon. Happy Birthday to her.
Thank you Alison, hopefully summer will arrive sooner rather than later.
Why isn’t the 5-6AM program listed on your program list?
Hello listener, you can find Exploring Music at the top of our schedule page with a link to the website with all the info you might need: https://www.wrcjfm.org/playlists-schedule/
One of the few stations worth a darn Detroit! Thank you so much for all that you bring into my car, and my home.
Thank you Donald, we are happy to be there.
On Saturday 2/6, sometime between 7-7:30pm you played a version of Baby, It’s Cold Outside. I didn’t catch the name of the vocalist though…
Hi Katie, that was performed by Ray Charles and Betty Carter. Thanks for tuning in!
It’s “Live Long and Prosper”
Hello, could I get the name of the song that was playing at 9:55 PM tonight? It was pretty sweet and had some great solos
Hi Austin, we will check with Maxine…
Awesome song playing 12:30pm on January 18th. What song is it? Thank you!
Hi Meghan, around that time was the Harlem Symphony by James Price Johnson performed by Concordia and conducted by Marin Alsop from a MusicMasters CD, spine number 67140.
At around 8:30pm there was a song playing that was a jazz version of the song “The little things you do together” by Steven sondheim, and shazam couldn’t seem to pick it up. I was wondering who’s cover is it? Is it a michigan artist? It was really great
Hi Ana, yes that was a medley of “Merrily We Roll Along/Comedy Tonight/The Little Things You Do Together” performed by Jackie Cain & Roy Kral from “A Stephen Sondheim Collection”. Thanks for listening.
hilarious turkish march for power tools@
Thanks Doris. We got some work done around the studio too!
May I get the name of the piece that was playing at 9:03 am today (Sun Dec 27). It was beautiful! Thank you for playing such amazing music 🎶
Hi Kris, thanks for listening. Here are the pieces from around that time:
Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750), Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring BWV147, Simone Dinnerstein – piano, Sony 81742, BACH: A STRANGE BEAUTY
Christoph Graupner (1683-1760), Cantata for Third Day of Christmas: concluding aria (allegro), Les Idees Heureuses (Happy Ideas), Genevieve Soly, Analekta AN2 9115, CHRISTMAS IN DARMSTADT INSTRUMENTAL AND VOCAL MUSIC, VOL.3

Maxine,
Thank you for the great jams on Christimas night.
Merry Christmas!
Thank you, Merry Christmas!
loved the yodelingbeethoven song! Thanks for a great laugh.
No problem Doris, good to hear you enjoyed it!
I thought it was yesterday or perhaps Tues. around noon this week that you played a piece featuring Pavarotti. Dan’t seem to find it on playlist unless its a piece that didn’t mention Luciano’s name. It was a sad piece as announcer said after it ended, “Now onto something more cheerfu.
l” If you remember it could you please give me the name of the album.
Hi Judith, yes that was the Concert Aria: “In questa tomba oscura”, WoO 133 by Beethoven featuring Luciano Pavarotti with the Pierino Philharmonia Orchestra under Piero Gamba. Here is the CD: https://www.amazon.com/Mattinata-Luciano-Pavarotti-Philharmonia-Orchestra/dp/B000Y96WFY
Great music and love your station! Yesterday you played a song with Phyllis Hyman at around 7:30pm. Can you share the name of the song? My 15 year old loved it!!! Would like to find it for Christmas for her☺️
Sure did play Phyliss Hyman with pianist McCoy Tyner…. Phyllis Hyman – In Search of My Heart – Remember Me: https://youtu.be/lFz4VdV2FEs
WOW! Pipedreams Beethoven!!! Loved It!!!
Thanks listener! We thought it might be popular.
Wow, appreciate your comments….
You know I love you guys and will probably never switch but it’s the day after Thanksgiving and it’s 736 am and I’m missing the Souza Alarm! Kinda gotten used to it. Really gets me and my daughter going in the morning.
Hello Colleen, sorry about that, we gave our regular broadcast team the day after Thanksgiving off. The Sousalarm will return today!
Are there plans to add track metadata to the stream? I don’t use TuneIn so I am unsure if it is on there.
Having the band name and the track title would be great if I am unable to write down what the host reads off.
Hi Dylan, Which way are you listening to us? If you do it through our website the song info shows up in the pop-up window.
I usually listen to the stream through my music player on my computer or through a radio app on my phone.
The metadata that shows up is usually, “Non-music: ProgramTitle” where “ProgramTitle” is something like Jazzfest Detroit or Maxology, but never the track or band.
Oh ok, with JazzFest and Maxology the hosts are playing music off their CDs, not playing from our computer system so the info isn’t there for the display. We have been adding more jazz to our database though so maybe sometime in the future they can use the database and the info will be displayed.
Understood, thank you!
Hi Kenneth, we didn’t see McCoy Tyner on Dee’s show but John Hill played “Walk Spirit, Talk Spirit” by Tyner on the 23rd.
Hi WRCJ team—What way do you recommend setting up to be able to listen to WRCJ on the Amazon Echo/Alexa? Thanks.
Hi Tim, you can try asking for us by name or frequency. This page offers some more info: https://www.pcmag.com/how-to/how-to-listen-to-the-radio-on-your-amazon-echo
Hope the new “listen live” web app is going away soon. I miss being able to backup and catch the announcers comments about a piece on the previous version.
Love the music mix and particularity that it is just not the best hits of Beethoven and Mozart.
Hi Gary, My apologies – we were having some issues with the popup on certain browsers. But I’ve added it back into this page – see the link at the bottom. Or you can click here – Open the PopUp Player!
I have a Logitech Smart Radio (Internet). It can not locate the link as posted.
Do you have a solution for me?
I’m guessing most of these internet radio devices use TuneIn?
