SHARE YOUR STORY THROUGH PUBLIC MEDIA

In this time of crisis, Detroit Public TV and WRCJ 90.9 FM want to remind people about the healing power of the arts.  Please share audio and video content with us that helps tell your story.  We’ve received cool content from some folks, and please keep it coming!

Please know that this is a free promotional opportunity for you, and while we can’t offer compensation, we’ll do our best to steer people to you, so include your complete contact info when submitting. We’re looking for:

SHORT PERFORMANCES

Perhaps a segment from a recently cancelled event or a solo or small group performance not longer than 5 minutes. Requirements:

Use a cell phone or Zoom to record your performance.  Ideally, choose something in the public domain or an original piece.

If the material you’re performing is copyrighted, WHEN YOU SUBMIT THE MATERIAL, PLEASE STATE IN WRITING:  I agree that I am the owner of the rights or have been granted the rights to use the material I am posting and that nothing prevents me from allowing DPTV to use, broadcast, distribute, stream, etc. this content.  I agree that, in the case that any issues arise relating to the posted content, I will defend and indemnify DPTV and hold them harmless against any and all allegations, claims, suits or causes of action.

If DPTV or WRCJ wishes to broadcast the piece, we will contact you separately.

Here are some useful tips for recording:

  • How to record a Zoom meeting

If applicable, introduce your piece. Look straight into the camera. Identify yourself, the piece, and share a few notes/thoughts about it. Then begin the performance.

When  you email the file (.mp4 or .mov), please include names of performers, title of piece, and composer/writer.  PG rated content – no explicit lyrics

Submit video file or link to: Christina Amato at camato@dptv.org. Include the following information in email Subject title and performance file name: Performance for WRCJ [performer name]

LONG PERFORMANCES

Share full-length (up to two hours) video or audio performances that your organization has archived or on demand. We are creating a webcast schedule and will share your performance with the community. Audio performances will be considered for use on WRCJ 90.9 FM.

As with above, after you’ve uploaded the content, please send an email to Christina Amato at camato@dptv.org with a description of the material submitted and please state in writing: I agree that I am the owner of the rights or have been granted the rights to use the material I am posting and that nothing prevents me from allowing DPTV to use, broadcast, distribute, stream, etc. this content.  I agree that, in the case that any issues arise relating to the posted content, I will defend and indemnify DPTV and hold them harmless against any and all allegations, claims, suits or causes of action.

Include the following information in email Subject title and performance file name: Performance for WRCJ [performer name]

AUDIO MESSAGES

What would you like to say to WRCJ-FM listeners at this time?  Please send a 30-second or less audio message (.mp3 or .wav) to Dave Devereaux at ddevereaux@dptv.org.

LIVE STREAMED PERFORMANCES

Are you planning to live stream a performance?  Please let us know when and how to access it, so that we can promote it.  If it’s a series, please send a schedule.

Thank you for your letting us share your stories.  Please stay well.
