90.9 Jazz Hosts Honored

Special Events

Sunday, May 7th was a marvelous day of music and recognition produced by Naima Shamborguer and friends at the St Matthew’s & St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church. Maxine Michaels, John Penney, Linda Yohn as well as Detroit jazz radio legend Jim Gallert were honored with testimonials and gifts including flowers, an award as a lifetime jazz supporter, a presentation from Detroit City Council and a “Spirit of Detroit” pin!

Naima performed with with fellow singer Robert McCarther accompanied by pianist Sven Anderson, bassist Marion Hayden, drummer Djallo Djkate and saxophonist Vincent Bowens.
