Hello. I was hoping to get the name of a jazz song played on Tuesday, the 10th of December 2019. It was one of the first songs after classical music had ended, so within the first 15 minutes. The singer was a woman and its lyrics were about Detroit: “Detroit is doin’ just fine” and “Detroit is goin’ fast.” I am almost certain those are verbatim, but I could be wrong. Shazam and Siri could not identify it and I could not bring up the song on Google when I searched for it either. Please help!

    Much Appreciated,

    Patrick D.

Hello Erin, around that time we played a selection from the opera La finta semplice by Mozart. It’s from a big cd set on the L’Oiseau-Lyre label, spine number 452496. It featured the Academy of Ancient Music conducted by Christopher Hogwood.

Thank you so much for the great music! I was listening last night at 2:25 and there was a very killin piece on Dee Alexander’s segment with Alto, Trombone, Guitar, Organ, Bass and Drums. I believe the bass player was Clark Summers but I may be wrong. I was wondering where I could find that track, I fell in love with it and would love to study it more. Thanks again, appreciate all you do for Classical and Jazz music here in Detroit!

The best show is Lynn Warfull’s Saturday Cinema. Saturday mornings are usually brunch for us and we enjoy that hour. We enjoy the Saturday line up but have to give the edge to her. Today was the top 12 film scores of the American Film Industry. We missed the beginning of the show. Is there a way to see the recap of the list she played? Thanks!
