The Passing of Jim Lowlor

Special Events

All of us at 90.9 were so saddened to hear of the passing of Detroit radio personality Jim Lowlor, who was the host of the Drive Time Elixir from 2009-2011.

Born in Trenton, Jim was the son of James and Gladys (Lee) Lowlor. Jim had a very long and successful career in broadcasting in both radio and television working at WDET, WXYT, WQRS/WRCJ and WDIV Chanel 4. He owned Pictures in Motion Video Production Company, he did Media Training for Bock and Associates and was a Freelancer for NPR Radio. He was a member of the Screen Actors Guild and had been on the Grosse Ile Airport Commission and the Advisory Committee.

Jim leaves to cherish his memory, Kathleen, his wife of the past 33 years; his children: Laura (Ronald) Vorndam, Lindsay Lowlor, Matthew (Maria) Lowlor and Megan (Matt Korovesis) Lowlor; as well as 5 grandchildren. Sadly he was preceded in death by his parents and 3 siblings.
