Christopher O’Riley on “Bach’s Lunch”

Special Events

Johann Sebastian Bach’s “The Well-Tempered Clavier” a two-volume collection of 24 preludes and fugues in every major and minor key, is a foundational work in classical music, demonstrating a revolutionary tuning system for keyboard instruments.

This Friday on “Midday Music” Haley Taylor will talk with pianist Christopher O’Riley about his newly-released recording of Book II, where he explores the Japanese concept of Ma—’the space between’—to uncover new expressive possibilities through the silence between the notes. Each day this week at 12 p.m. hear a selection from the album.
