January 21, 202602:09:11Hello! May I please have the actual name of the Sibelius piece for Flute and Chorus that was played today? Under the Winter Sky? Snow? I was driving and distracted and missed the whole title. I think it was between 10:30 and 11:15 a.m. this morning. I believe Ms. Taylor said that, “if you were from Finland, you knew the tune…”, or something like that? Thanks. Gorgeous stuff!
WorkerB
January 22, 202622:16:45Hi Jon, that one was actually by Harri Wessman, it’s called Water Under Snow is Weary. The recording was by The Tapiola Choir. Glad you liked it!

May 29, 202518:00:35That Dennis Brain Mozart Horn concerto with the Philharmonia and Von Karajan eh? I barely know the difference between a concerto and a sonata. But I think anyone can listen to that after hearing ten other performances of the piece and know Dennis Brain was utterly the best of the best. I was out of the room and came back two minutes in and knew immediately who the soloist was.
I have an LP recording which includes reminiscences of some people who worked with him who more than a decade after he died in a car accident. They spoke emotionally, reverently about his artistry.
Nice – thanks.
WorkerB
May 30, 202504:02:26Hi Paul, yes Dennis was exceptional. Apparently he came from a family of musicians. It’s pretty cool you have that special LP. Thanks for listening!
William Sturm
May 15, 202502:51:48What song played today (May 04) just before Bach’s Lunch? It sounded like a Beatles tune, but I could not come up with the name.

March 20, 202523:14:44Thank you, Haley, for your distinctive choices in music. I love hearing lesser known compositions by well-known composers, as well as wonderful music by unknowns. I often turn on the radio in the middle of something great, and want to write down the composers and work, and even the orchestra!! Please, repeat this information after each piece of music. This may seem boring to you, but it has been very important to me, as I listen to interpretations closely. Thank you for your consideration, and thank you for your show!
Bill Collins
March 18, 202516:01:30Wow! That piano piece by the Ethiopian composer. Great!

January 8, 202518:02:25Hello, Haley. I am a long-time listener and financial supporter who relocated to the west coast of the state (St. Joseph) in June of last year. I wanted to tell you that you have brought a lovely third dimension to the on-air talent at WRCJ. We already were addicted to the humor and humanity of Peter and Dr. Dave, but you just add so well to the mix. Thank you for doing what you do. (The music’s pretty darned great too!)
WorkerB
January 9, 202504:37:20Thank you Richard, it’s nice to hear you’re enjoying the show. We’ll pass your message along to Haley.

July 26, 202402:03:24Uplifting story… I was sitting at a metro Detroit intersection with my car windows down this week listening to Bach’s Lunch. Next thing I know, the person in the next car over was calling over to me. They wanted to know what station I was listening to and that they liked classical music. I told them 90.9 FM and Bach’s Lunch and they switched their station and thanked me. Hopefully, we have a new long term listener!
WorkerB
July 26, 202414:07:51Wow, thanks for spreading the word! Yes, hopefully a happy new member of the 90.9 WRCJ family.

April 28, 202406:09:49Hi William, that would either have been the first movement of the Brandenburg Concerto #2 performed by the English Chamber Orchestra with Ian Watson on harpsichord under the direction of Anthony Newman or
the Partita #1, BWV 825 performed by Charles Owen on piano.

November 13, 202316:51:34Hi WRCJ,
Your new website looks great. However, for the past few days the display has shown “Arrival of the Queen of Sheba” by Handel as being played, continuously. This is also shown when we view what’s playing on our car’s radio. The actual music played, and announcers, all sound AOK.
WorkerB
November 14, 202306:04:58Hi Phil, sorry about that, we are in the process of replacing the music database computer in the main studio which may have caused problems with the title display. We are working on it right now.
Elissa Bluth
