My library covers from William Wallace through the American civil war, to current day conflicts. Fiftysix years of this library in my Sixtysix years !

Excellent full Concerto by Russian Composer under Stalin’s iron fist of rule as a military history buff & military modeler I certainly appreciated your introspective look into this turmoiled but exquisite presentation of one composers human feelings for one’s Motherland of Russia 🇷🇺 at that point in time the U.S.S.R. during such hideous & tumultuous times as World War II wrought of death & destruction.

That Dennis Brain Mozart Horn concerto with the Philharmonia and Von Karajan eh? I barely know the difference between a concerto and a sonata. But I think anyone can listen to that after hearing ten other performances of the piece and know Dennis Brain was utterly the best of the best. I was out of the room and came back two minutes in and knew immediately who the soloist was.

I have an LP recording which includes reminiscences of some people who worked with him who more than a decade after he died in a car accident. They spoke emotionally, reverently about his artistry.
